Akaroa

Akaroa is a historic settlement just 75 kilometres out of Christchurch. The settlement has retained its French and British roots, with its colonial architecture, craft stores, cafes and galleries. Akaroa is home to the largest penguin colony on mainland New Zealand, and the waters at Akaroa are home to the rarest and smallest marine dolphin. Experience these treasures by sea kayak, cruises, cycle tours, sail boats and a number of walking tracks.
